First Hoover Workshop on Space Safety and Sustainability in Washington DC
We just concluded the first Hoover Workshop on Space Safety and Sustainability in Washington DC. Distinguished representatives from Government, Industry, and Academia (the triple Helix model) convened to openly discuss the most pressing challenges and propose actionable solutions for lawmakers to act upon.
Despite the complexity of the topic, we identified clear consensus around several actions to be pursued at the policy and technological level, including requirements on persistent custody and coverage of space objects, on data quality and sharing obligations, the need to enhance a coalition under a centralized platform for space traffic, coordination at both national and international levels, and much more. Stay tuned for our report!
