News: Concluding the AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference

    By Simone D'Amico   August 11, 2022

The 2022 AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference was a great success and ended yesterday in Charlotte, NC. It has been both challenging and rewarding to organize it, especially considering that it was the first in-person conference after the beginning of the pandemic and the first time that it was co-sponsored by industry. Check the papers here!

I am wrapping things up now in the conference hotel room, sipping espresso, reconciling budget, checking great papers, and looking back at about 20 years I spent publishing, working with and learning from the Astrodynamics community. What a blast!

Special thanks go to the 343 participants (highest number since the beginning of the conference in 1966), to the key Chairs that made all this possible: Ossama Abdelkhalik (with his students) Atri Dutta; Natasha Bosanac; Manoranjan Majji, and to our generous sponsors who gave special vibe and relevance to the event BlueOrigin (Vivek Nagabhushan) and InfiniteOrbits (Adel Haddoud).

Simone D'Amico is the founder and director of SLAB, and one of the General Chairs of the 2022 AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conferenc.
