By Simone D'Amico November 6, 2022

Professor D'Amico is honored to announce his new appointment as an Associate Professor, by courtesy, of Geophysics at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability
The Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability is comprised of collaborators from across fields in science, engineering, and policy working together to address the most pressing planetary challenges. In this new role, Professor D'Amico will continue to engage and contribute to sustainability as it relates to spaceflight. His recent work in this arena includes a transdisciplinary publication on low cost science mission concepts to enable gravity investigations on Mars. The image above is taken from this publication and depicts the current knowledge of gravity and topography across the solar system from remote sensing spacecraft. The high-resolution knowledge of the Earth and Moon are results of formation flying missions such as GRACE and GRAIL, which Professor D'Amico had the fortune of contributing to.
A big thanks to the Geophysics Department Chair and the colleagues who welcomed Professor D'Amico on-board!
Simone D'Amico is the founder and director of SLAB.
