News: Building Cooperation with Array Labs

This week, the Silicon Valley startup Array Labs announced the appointment of Prof. Simone D'Amico as a Technical Advisor to their company.

Prof. D'Amico believes that the vision of Array Labs is the most consequential and natural step forward for SAR after the advent of SmallSat SAR of the last decade. He is excited to join Array Labs as a Technical Advisor and thrilled to help solve the technical and operational challenges of creating a spaceborne distributed SAR consisting of tens of swarming elements in low earth orbit.

In a statement, Array Labs expressed their excitement to work with Prof. D'Amico, writing that:

As the Founding Director of Stanford University's Space Rendezvous Laboratory, Simone pioneered concepts that have enabled formation flying, satellite swarming, and autonomous proximity operations missions. Simone's decades of experience advising space agencies and leading innovative satellite missions make him perfectly suited to guide Array's efforts in precision formation flight.
