News: Reflect - Solar Power After Dark using DSS

One of the most exciting parts of my job as faculty is to meet and advise extremely talented, creative, and ambitious students at Stanford University and in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics in particular.

It is through Tristan Semmelhack, an undergraduate student in my Space Flight class, that I was introduced to Reflect, a new space startup that he co-founded as CTO together with Ben Nowack, the CEO.

Reflect aims at using Distributed Space Systems to provide sunlight to existing solar farms at night. By selling the sunlight to solar farms, they want to increase the output of existing infrastructure without additional costs to solar farm owners.

I am intrigued to be part of the Advisory Board and help solve the technical challenges of such an endeavor: Solar Power After Dark!
