The Stanford Student Space Initiative satellites team is busy preparing for the launch of their Sapling 1U cube satellite payload. The payload will be delivered to orbit by Launcher Space onboard SpaceX's Transporter 6 rideshare mission in November. This past weekend, team members completed the build of a proto-qual Sapling model, which went through a successful shock and vibration tests at QuantaLaboratories. In addition, the team range tested the satellites radio communications from Mount Hamilton, successfully sending and receiving packets from a ground station atop the Durand building on Stanford's campus. I am proud and privileged to advise this independent team of talented, motivated, bright undergraduate students. Stay tuned for a cool new satellite project we are defining together!
